Weekly Message—August 23-27, 2021
Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of August 23.
We are excited about welcoming you to our Virtual Curriculum Night and General PTSA Meeting at 6:00 p.m. August 25. The log in information is available in the email version of this message and in Canvas Global Announcements. We look forward to seeing you Wednesday evening.
Also on Wednesday, look out for printed progress reports to come home with your student. Each student should receive 7 progress reports. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s grades, please contact the individual teacher.
We encourage you to join us for the PTSA meeting promptly at 6:00. Again, the links will be available in the daily Canvas Global Announcements. Join us to learn more about our PTSA and some of the things we have planned for this year. The PTSA will also hold elections during the meeting. We currently do not have an official PTSA President for this school year. Tanisha Davis, our past PTSA President, will step back into the role, if no one is nominated for the position. If Ms. Davis needs to resume the role of President, we will need a new Treasurer for this school year. We are also actively seeking a new secretary. Please consider volunteering for these important roles. An active and involved PTSA helps SCS to be a great school. The link to view and nominate for our open positions will be included in the email version of this message.

Daily Announcements–Thursday, August 19, 2021
Gryphons, listen to this. A great and wise man once said “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare it for today. That wise man was Malcolm X. He spoke these words to inspire youth more than 50 years ago and they are still good today.
Gryphons please know, trust, and believe that your ability to come to school each day and to be taught and to learn and to prepare for your future is a privilege that many do not have.
Work each day to be your best and to appreciate SCS, the teachers and the resources available to you…..just because you deserve it.
