  • Address Updates/Transportation Requests

Good Evening, SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with an important announcement regarding transportation.  In order for your child to have a bus on the first day of school, July 19, we need all families to update their address and transportation choices. On Friday, July 2 the DPS online returning student registration portal will go live for the 21-22 school year, and this is where you will update your information. You can access the registration portal through the district website, dpsnc.net, or through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The deadline to update this information is July 5 by the end of the day. If your address and transportation choices are not updated, your child may not have a bus on the first day of school and will need to wait after the start of school to have one assigned. If you cannot access the return student registration portal, please use the Google form we have created to collect this information.  You can find the link in the email version of this message, on my blog and on our website at scs.dpsnc.net.

In addition, there will be an in-person assistance day at the Minnie M. Forte-Brown Staff Development Center on Friday, July 2nd from 8am to 7pm. Bilingual staff will be present to assist families who are unable to update their address or need assistance.

Again, all updates and requests must be received by end of day July 5.

  • Test Results and Report Cards

    Hi SCS Parents,

As we close out this year, please remember that parents can access final student grades on PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you do not yet have a Parent Portal account, please refer to the information on the Durham Public Schools website https://www.dpsnc.net/parent-portal or contact Ms. Fleming, Data Manager.

Additionally, due to the delay in End of Grade test scores for reading this year, we will hold all End of Grade test scores until all students return for the 2021-22 school year. At that time, all spring EOG and EOC scores reports for all grades/subjects will be distributed to schools and parents.

With results from the new tests being delayed, we will use the results from other available student information to assign final grades and/or make placement decisions. Once the state provides student scores, then schools will provide parents with each student’s score and an Individual Student Report.

If you have questions or concerns about the delay of your child’s test scores, assignment of grades, or placement decisions, please feel free to contact the school.

    Have a good evening!
