Weekly Message–July 25-29, 2022

Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of July 25.

__________

School Times/Carpool

Thanks for a great first week. We monitored carpool times daily and the times decreased each day. We hope this continues into this week as bus routes normalize and everyone gets accustomed to the new school year. You can assist with morning times by having children with their bookbags nearby ready to exit the car as soon as you get to the front sidewalk and traffic stops. You do not have to wait until you get to the front door to let your child out.

School begins at 8:30 a.m. and drop-off begins at 8:10 a.m. in the carpool line at the front of the school.  School dismisses at 3:20 p.m. Remember that all carpool students are dropped off in the front traffic circle in the morning. Middle school students are picked up on the side of the building in the afternoon. High school students are picked up in the front carpool line. Siblings that are in mixed grades go to the front with the high school students.

Bus Information

If you need to find your child’s bus information please use the Secure Bus Stop Information Service link. You will need your child’s PowerSchool ID number. You may also want to download the Here’s the Bus App which will allow you to track your child’s bus. Both links are located on our website or the DPS website. You may contact Ms. Durkin, assistant principal, if you need assistance with your bus.

Schedules/Schedule Change Requests

You and your students may access their schedules in PowerSchool anytime. The deadline to request a change has been extended to 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 25. The link has been shared via Canvas Global Announcements, my blog, the SCS website, and Ms. Settle’s website throughout last week. Students must be signed into their DPS account to complete the form. Students must follow their current schedule until a schedule change is approved.
