DPS is offering 11th &12th grade students interested in taking a practice ACT test an opportunity on January 22nd.  You must complete the registration link below by January 14th to participate.  Seats are limited, so don’t wait!

Anika James Scholarship for Students of Color

Purpose: The main purpose of this scholarship is to promote educational opportunities for students of color by providing them with a scholarship of $3,000. It was established to honor the life of Anika James, who was a loving, radiant and talented sophomore at Jordan High School in Durham, NC when she left this world in 2006. Criteria: Must be attending College (freshmen including high school seniors accepted to college; sophomores; or juniors).
Must be seeking to give back to the community (with current and future plans for community service). 

Must demonstrate financial needs. Must be a person of color.

The 16th Annual National Magnet Schools Student Poster Contest is accepting entries until January 20. Your poster must display at least one of the 5 Pillars of National Magnet Schools of America—Diversity, Innovative Curriculum and Professional Development, Academic Excellence, Leadership, or Family and Community partnerships. Attention Seniors!!! The State Employees’ Credit Union’s annual People Helping People $10,000 scholarship is now open to students. There are flyers posted around the school with application information. Students in need of an application please contact Ms. Settle. Applications are due to Ms. Settle by February 4.

If you are found to be misusing technology (logging in as someone else, sending inappropriate content, looking up inappropriate content, etc.) or engaging in bullying/harassment, there will be consequences according to the Student Code of Conduct.

Students you are reminded to watch your distance from each other in the halls. Use the dots to guide you. Stay on the right side of the hall and keep your volume low because there are other classes in session.

Masks are to be worn at all times when on campus. They should cover your nose and mouth at all times. If you need a mask break, ask your teacher to go to a mask break area.
