Weekly Message — July 19–23, 2021

Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of July 19.

Welcome back to the first day of school for the 2021-2022 school year!  We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning Monday, July 19.  School begins at 9:00 a.m. and drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. in the carpool line at the front of the school.  School dismisses at 4:00 p.m. Carpool Maps are available on the SCS website to explain how carpool works for new families. This is primarily for our middle school parents because middle school students are dropped off in the front in the morning and picked up on the side of the building in the afternoon. High school students are dropped off and picked up in the front carpool line. Siblings that are in mixed grades go to the front with the high school students.

If you need to find your child’s bus information please use the Here’s the Bus App. The link is located on the DPS website. You will need your child’s PowerSchool ID number. You may contact Dr. Dixon, assistant principal, if you need assistance with your bus.

Students may access their schedules in PowerSchool. If they wish to request a change in a class, we will share the link to do so tomorrow morning via Canvas Global Announcements. Students must follow their current schedule until a schedule change is approved.

Remember to wear your masks and we encourage you to bring a water bottle to use throughout the day. I want to remind you that we are still socially distancing as much as possible and this includes no hugging and sharing materials. Please help us remind your children the importance of this.

All students may receive free breakfast and lunch this school year. We do ask that you complete the Free/Reduced Lunch Application forms because this assists with DPS receiving funding.

Parking permit applications are available in the main office for those students with drivers’ licenses who wish to drive to school. The cost is $75.00. These may be purchased anytime during the school year.

We’re excited to be a site for Community Education Before School Care for middle school students. The applications are on the SCS website.

Always check our website, my blog—Price’s Write, our Facebook page, and Twitter for frequent updates about what’s going on at SCS.

Have a great evening from everyone at SCS where we can’t wait for the Mighty Gryphons to Return!
