This year we are happy to offer the “Price PromiseAward to graduating seniors.  This award will be granted to seniors who demonstrate participation in extra-curricular activities that apply their education, exhibit good citizenship and/or offer service to others.

Each day Gryphons are reminded by Ms. Price that “The Learning Never Ends”.  Included in our daily announcements are internships, mentorships, opportunities for participation in seminars, training and exposure to real-life opportunities that offer enhancement to the preparation of those who stand on the verge of entering independent civic life.

In order to receive the “Price Promise” Award, seniors must meet these basic criteria:

  1.  Select an extra-curricular activity such as an internship, community service activity, mentorship or other activity that complements their academic preparation;
  2. Provide documentation to Ms. Neville of their chosen activity that includes contact information of their supervisor, description of activity and duration of activity;
  3. Write a statement that describes the value of the student’s participation in their chosen activity in preparation for their ongoing after graduation.

Those seniors who participate will be recognized at the SCS Graduation Ceremony and will receive a certificate of participation and a graduation gift from SCS.

In the 2021-2022 school year, Durham Public Schools families will be launching Ignite! Online Academy as a virtual school for grades K-12. Ignite! will be the virtual learning option for the 2021-2022 school year. Ignite! Online Academy will enroll students through the commitment form HERE. Ignite is an excellent option for families who are enthusiastic about online learning, are homeschooling currently, or have already made their decision to enroll in online learning for the 2021-2022 school year! Families that commit through the form would officially move their placement from their base or magnet school to Ignite for the entire 2021-2022 school year. All families who wish to receive virtual learning in the 2021-2022 school year must use the form to sign up for Ignite.
