Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your Weekly Message for the week of February 8.
Continuing Monday, our individualized intervention groups for Advisory 7th period will meet. We had some tech issues getting everyone connected last week. I’d like to thank Ms. Bridges and the teachers for working so quickly to readjust and for the students who showed up to their groups, remained in communication with their teachers, and had a productive intervention period. Middle school students will remain in their normal 7th period classes. High school students have received links via email so they know where to go for 7th period. These sessions are not optional, so please discuss with your child their invitations and let them know how important their attendance is. We will remain in these groups for two more weeks, look at the data we have gathered, and determine whether to continue. Juniors will focus on ACT Prep, other grade levels will work on iReady, Reading Plus and/or Vocabulary.com activities.
Tuesday-Friday, high school students will attend their regularly scheduled 7th period class.
Third quarter Science Kits for grades 6, 7, and 8 available for pickup in the office. Please stop during office hours to pick up your child’s kit. You may pick up kits for other students. Your science teacher will let you know when you’ll need your kit for class.

Gryphons, during Black History Month there are a lot of exciting virtual events to explore. Keep an eye on our SCS calendar for Zoom links to lectures, tours and exhibits that will enlighten you about some facts and events you may never have heard of. This calendar will be updated all month, so don’t miss out. Many of these events are accessible to the public and are held during the evenings, so we hope that you will enjoy these with your families.
One of our students and his family have experienced a devastating tragedy…a house fire. Thankfully, all family members are safe but they lost all of their belongings. We would like to support them during this difficult time. If you would like to donate, you may donate to the Go Fund Me account

If you would prefer to donate directly to the school, please contact me and I will ensure that the funds get to the family. Thank you in advance for your support.
Have a good evening from all of us at SCS where we practice the 4 C’s – Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, and Community.
