The 2021 Summer Session of NC Governor’s School has been tentatively set for June 20 – July 28, 2021.  This year, the testing requirement has been eliminated which will allow a more diverse group of students to submit applications.

Students from DPS wishing to apply to Governor’s School for the 2021 Summer Session should meet one of the following criteria:

  • GPA:  Unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Class Rank:  Top 15% of class

Note:  Should a student wish to be nominated and does not meet one of the above criteria, two teachers can make an academic recommendation for a student.

An information session with representatives from DPS and NC Governor’s School is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Students/Families must pre-register for the event.  Registration Link

Students, are you rolling over and turning off your alarm clock in the morning, participating in just a couple of classes daily, or just deciding today is not the day for the wonderful world of virtual learning?  Well there is a new team in town, and we are dedicated to making sure we see your smiling faces, or hear your wonderful voices, or see your brilliant responses in the chat every day in our new learning environment.  We are putting you on notice with this friendly reminder that you need to be in your classes each day. Keep in mind we are clearing our schedules to make time visit each and every one of you or your parents personally if we have attendance or engagement concerns. See you in class virtually or at home personally….and remember the learning never ends.
