Tomorrow is a teacher workday and there will be no classes for students.
Students, the day you’ve been waiting for has arrived! Our SCS Canvas page will be live on Monday afternoon! We will send the link through Global Announcements. Most clubs will be meeting next week, and some will be meeting the following week. We’ll look forward to seeing you join us our Club Zoom rooms!
School Nutrition Services (SNS) would like to invite you to pick up meals for your student at various locations that you can find on our DPS website and our social media sites. The meals include both breakfast and lunch and are served each day from 11:00-12:30. You do not have to qualify for free/reduced lunch to receive lunches. Everyone is welcome.

Parents, we must have communication from you and/or a physician before we can excuse an absence. This documentation may be emailed to scs_maindesk@dpsnc.net. We will not accept communications from students as documentation of an excused absence.
During Wellness Wednesday on October 7, high school students will have the opportunity to meet with four College Admission Counselors. East Carolina at 10 a.m., UNCG at 11 a.m., Meredith at 1:00 p.m., and Maryville at 2 p.m. We encourage all interested students’ participation; however, we would like to see a great turnout for our seniors.
Parents it is very important that you have activated your Parent Portal accounts. Using your Parent Portal account, you can update contact information and forms for the 2020-2021 school year, remain informed about grades and attendance throughout the school year, and complete the Returning Student Forms. The Returning Student Portal will remain open until November 5th because we want as many students as possible to be updated. The easiest way for a parent to update their information is in PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you need to activate your Parent Portal Account, you will need to stop by the school with your picture ID to receive your unique log-in credentials and directions. Office hours are 8:30-4:30 Monday through Friday.
The directions for creating a Canvas Parent Observer Account can be found at canvas.dpsnc.net. There you will find step-by-step written directions, a video explanation, Canvas Observer Guide and information for downloading the mobile app. It is important that you create an observer account because some announcements will only be sent to Parent Observers and you can see your child’s activity in Canvas.
