Attention all seniors!  Required senior meetings are set to begin TODAY.  Please check your DPS email for your scheduled date, time, and Zoom link.  This meeting is just for students.  If parents have questions, Ms. Settle will schedule a separate meeting outside your scheduled senior session.  If your meeting is scheduled during a class, please let her know and she will email your teacher for attendance.  If you have any questions or concerns please let her know.

We’d like to give you some reminders about Wellness Wednesday. It is still an instructional day, with asynchronous and social emotional learning, for all students.  The protocol for SCS is that students must log into Canvas and check in at each of their classes by 2:00 p.m. and complete any assignments that teachers choose to leave for them.

Christina Villegas our Emily K College Advisor with host several sessions for high school students on college prep.

• 10:00 am – Senior Year Postsecondary Planning – We will introduce the different types of postsecondary plans, the average cost of living, and provide a quick overview of the College Application Process with a special emphasis on Building a College List. 
• 11:00 am – 9th – Starting of Strong – we will discuss the importance of high school performance, how that performance is measured through GPA and recorded on a Transcript, and discuss general tips to be good online learners. 
• 1:00 pm – 10-11th Grade: Connecting the Dots Towards Career – we will introduce the different types of postsecondary plans, the average cost of living,  how to explore different careers, and prepare for college applications. 

Ms. Neville will host “Let’s talk about it.” 

LET’S TALK ABOUT IT”  Students you are invited to join us on Wellness Wednesday, September 9, 2020 to participate in a discussion about how things are going – at home, at school, in your community or in the world.  We are all experiencing change and we have had some time to adjust to change.  Let’s meet and “LET’S TALK ABOUT IT”

Progress Reports will be ready for your parents Wednesday, September 16. Make sure that you are working hard and turning your assignments in on time. Take advantage of Office Hours if you need the extra assistance.
